Welcome to the FishPod 10BX TechTutorial, your complete guide to setting up and using the Bluetooth Boat Mount Fish Finder that transforms your phone or tablet into a powerful fish-finding sonar device.

Unboxing

When you open the package, you should find the following items:

• Depth Sounder Module (DSM)
• Quick Launch Guide
• Support Documentation
• Transom Mount Transducer (with integrated plug-and-play connector and mounting hardware)
• Two Water-Resistant Connectors with Harnesses

If any of these items are missing, please contact our support team through the support portal.

Installation Guide

Installing the Transducer

To install the transducer, follow the detailed instructions available on our support portal. You can either search for "transom mount transducer installation" or find the link in the video description. If your boat requires a thru-hull transducer, additional guidance is available through our transducer exchange program.

Installing the Depth Sounder Module (DSM)

1. Select a Location: Choose a spot near a switchable 12-volt power source for the DSM.
2. Secure the DSM: Use the provided stainless steel mounting screws to secure the DSM in place.
3. Connect the Water-Resistant Connectors:
   • Left Connector: For the 12-volt power supply and the transducer.
   • Right Connector: For connecting to an NMEA network. (Note: This connector is for advanced users and is not needed for basic setup. Secure it with a zip-tie to keep it out of the way.)
4. Power Connection:
   • Red Wire: Connect to the positive terminal of a switchable 12-volt power source.
   • Black Wire: Connect to the negative terminal.
5. Transducer Connection: Plug the transducer cable into the transducer connector on the DSM.

Testing the DSM

• Power On: Turn on the external power source.
• Check the Light:
  • Blinking Red Light: The unit is powered on but not receiving sonar data.
  • Blinking Green Light: The unit is receiving sonar data and is ready to connect to the app. (Note: The boat must be in the water for the green light to blink.)

App Setup

Downloading the App

1. Scan the QR Code: Use the QR code in the quick launch guide to download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Manual Search: You can also search for "FishPod" in the IOS or Google Play app stores.

Initial Setup

1. Open the App: Once downloaded, open the app and agree to the notices.
2. Demo Mode: If you're demoing the app, tap "Skip" to pair your FishPod later.
3. Connect the FishPod to the DSM:
   • Turn on the external power source and ensure the light on the DSM is blinking.
   • When the app finds your FishPod, tap it to connect.
4. Bluetooth Connection Verification:
   • Black Bluetooth Symbol: Indicates the FishPod is connected.
   • Red X Through the Symbol: Indicates the app is not connected to a FishPod.

You can access your device list by tapping the Bluetooth icon to select previously paired devices or other available devices.

Simulation Mode

To enter simulation mode:

1. Tap the FishPod Icon on the top left of the screen.
2. Tap Mode and then Simulator on the bottom left.

Using the FishPod App

Main Screen Overview

• Top Left: Menu (FishPod Icon)
• Under FishPod Icon: Water depth and temperature readings.
• Under Bluetooth Icon: Depth scale (can be removed in settings).

Preset Modes

• VirtuView Mode: For beginner anglers; displays bottom contour and fish as icons.
• FishScape Mode: For intermediate anglers; displays advanced features like FishTarget technology.
• FishScape HD Mode: For experienced anglers; provides high-definition raw sonar data.
• Data Mode: Enlarges depth and temperature readings for easy viewing from a distance.

Customizing the App

Explore the app’s settings to fine-tune your fishing experience:

• Sonar Settings: Tap any menu item for a full explanation of the settings.
• Display Settings: Customize the color palette and activate underwater VirtuView.
• FishEcho, BottomScan, Range, and Alarm Settings: Conveniently located on the main menu for on-the-fly adjustments.

Advanced Features

Custom Color Palette

• Access: Tap "Display" in the settings menu, then "Color Scheme."
• Customize: Select any color scheme or activate the underwater VirtuView setting.

ShootThru Technology

• Place the FishPod inside a solid fiberglass or aluminum boat hull to receive readings while trolling or on plane. Visit our support site for detailed instructions.
