Often, erratic readings are caused by the fish finder's settings. Most often, we find that the fish finder has been inadvertently set to simulator mode. Click Here to turn off the simulator mode.
While Ice Fishing there are 2 very important steps that must be taken:
1. Ensure the transducer is lowered below the ice in the hole. If it is not the signal can bounce around giving erratic depths.
2. Set the Range to manual and adjust to the proper depth range. If it is in auto and gets a false reading it will adjust the depth range incorrectly.
