A thru-hull transducer is a transducer that requires drilling a 2”hole in the hull of your boat. When the hole is drilled the transducer is installed by sliding the threaded shaft of the transducer from underneath the boat into the inside of the hull where a threaded lock nut is placed making the transducer “sandwich” the hull.
